Weekly Re-cap

The full moon was especially beautiful this week

And as I took photos thru the kitchen window, the clouds gave off a magical glow.

Elder Stephens has been transferred! He is now in the northeast, in Lenyenye.

We really enjoyed having Elder Stephens as one of the APs. He is very dedicated, is a great leader, and loves being a missionary. Elder Stephens also was a lot of fun to be around. We sure miss him! Sister Dunn and Elder Stephens.

Here Elder Malapula (the new AP) President Dunn, and Elder Menendez are waiting at the airport for two arriving missionaries. Elder Malapula fits in perfectly as the newest AP.

TRANSFER DAY!
Tuesday was our third transfer day and there was another massive change of companionships.

All of the elders love to gather and catch up on what's happening with each other.

The parking lot is very busy with moving missionary's items from one car to the other as companionships change.

Missionaries are building lasting friendships here on mission. Here is Elder Johnson and Elder Koyle.

Elder Santoro and Elder Matos

Elder Andritiana. It is so hot and the elders make good use of our water cooler!

.................................................................

We come home from the office and open all the doors and windows to let in the fresh air.

......................................................................

We received two new elders to the mission on Wednesday. Elder Turuaskis is from Lithuania, and Elder Nelson is from Brisbane Australia. A special thing about Elder Turuaskis is that he is the very first missionary from Lithuania!! and he is the first member of the church in his family. He said that two weeks before he left for the Provo MTC, he baptized his own mother! He's been a member for two years.

Saturday Kent and I went to close a flat and to deliver a new mattress to some elders. These clouds filled the sky and were just beautiful. There seems to be an abundance of clouds here, and we receive rain fairly regularly.

The landscaping behind the mission office is quite lovely. These yellow flowers were blooming their heads off when we left and when we returned a few hours later, the blossoms had disappeared. So glad I snapped a few photos when we first saw them.

Fun toy truck sign

!

Purple flowers are blooming like crazy along the roadways

Such beautiful country!

Caught the famous camera, always hiding and laying in wait for the speed violators. They have cameras set up and photograph your car license and send you a nice calling card asking for Rand.

'Hidden' cell photo tower

;-)

Hawkers are on all street corners. Sunglasses and power cords are always one of the choices.

I am fascinated by bank buildings in South Africa. They remind me of the great and spacious building in Lehi's dream.

And when we arrived home this baby Hadeda was in the yard.

.....................................................................
We had a wonderful Sunday. We arrived at the Cluster around 8:45 am. We have a 50 minute drive to church. There was a slow start, with members arriving little by little. A few minutes before church started, the first counselor asked if I would be one of the speakers because the assigned speaker didn't come. (We are teaching and giving talks at least once a month) He has asked Kent and I to speak impromptu before, but at the last minute, the speakers arrived and we were off the hook. This time, I got the opportunity to be the first speaker. I was very nervous because it is advantageous to prepare a message beforehand, but I said a quick prayer and trusted that the Spirit would take over. It seemed to go well and words just came to me! Message from this experience; don't be afraid to do hard things. "Doubt not, but be believing." Heavenly Father will help you every step of the way.  'Trust in the Lord!'

D & C 100:4-6
Therefore, I, the Lord, have suffered you to come unto this place; for thus it was expedient in me for the salvation of souls.
Therefore, verily say unto you, lift up your voices unto this people; speak the thoughts
that shall put into your hearts, and you shall not be confounded before men;
For it shall be given you in the very hour, yea, in the very moment, what ye shall say.
